About Me
Julie Mok, Printmaker & Artist
Julie's work explores her cultural identity, the female form, and darker hues of the human condition. By combining figurative and natural forms found in nature, she depicts her muse’s internalised conflicts and reflections. Her designs are heavily influenced by art nouveau, classic Asian aesthetics, combined with her background studies in Asian history and travels to these beautiful countries.
Julie studied fine art and mixed media at the University of Westminster, London. She works in traditional printmaking techniques, lino print, monoprint, dry point, combined with mixed media. She discovered lino printmaking during her art foundation year and found the gestural and unexpected nature of printmaking rewarding and challenging.
Julie is a trained Arts Award adviser, with enhanced DBS, certificate in early years and teaching experience with young children. Arts Award inspires young people to grow their arts and leadership talents. She shares her passion for print by running workshops and courses for beginners and young printmakers.
